yellowstone!

we spent a day in yellowstone national park a couple weeks ago and it was honesly the best!  we ate at the famous taco bus on our way in, and yes, we saw a bear so i'd say it was pretty darn perfect.

26+ inches and lovin' it

i love being snowed in.  our first snow of the season here in new jersey was a magical 26 inches and it came down constantly for over a day.  they called it "blizzardgeddon". since it was the weekend, we stayed inside {except to take hazel out to play/dig out our cars} ate soup and ben and jerry's, and drank hot chocolate.  i was feeling a little blah before this, but being snowed in was exactly the medicine we needed.

it's friday!  hurray!  what should we do this weekend?  probably something glamorous like get a car's oil changed?  haha.

well, here's a few photos i snapped a couple days ago when the weather was glorious and we spent over an hour outside; hanging out on the camping blanket my mom gave us for our wedding, eating cool ranch doritos, watching clouds, and playing with sidewalk chalk. 

hope you find something more exciting to do this weekend than getting your oil changed ;)

thanksgiving point animal farm.

we recently went to thanksgiving point with our friends to look at the animals.  hazel is finally getting to an age where she enjoys looking at and petting animals.  she pet the horse and really enjoyed running around playing, picking up rocks, and the "hay" ride.  thanks hayley, for inviting us!  as usual, we had a blast!

a salt lake sunset.

the other day as i was driving from my parent's house to pick up john from work, i saw this sunset and couldn't resist taking a picture.  it seems like there is beauty in all the world around us, and most of the time we're just too busy to notice it.    

hurray for november!

don't you just love fall colors?  on my freezing walk home, i saw this miraculous picture of the changing leaves against the background of the grey-white mountain mist.  isn't it  beautiful? some other fun photos from this last week:

our anniversary weekend.

 we started our park city weekend with some onion-sausage-pepperoni pizza deliciousness at an off-beat restaurant on main street.  the walls were lined with vintage beer and soda cans.  so cool.

  

we then walked main street with our ice cream cones.  because you know, that's just how we roll.

the morning of our anniversary, john made me a delicious breakfast.  we cuddled on the couch and watch lds general conference together.  after conference, we went shopping at the outlets and i got totally spoiled.

then we had ruth's chris for dinner....

on sunday we drove through the canyon and enjoyed the {gorgeous} changing leaves, watched conference at the cabin, and enjoyed a stew dinner with family.  

my favorite talk from conference was specifically about fathers.  i thought about john and how great a father he will be to our children someday.  i am loving where we are right now, but i am excited for that time in our lives, when it comes.  i love him with all my heart.

road trip.

over the weekend we went to st. george for a friend's wedding.  we got to see some beautiful scenery along the way.  

and we had a great time at the reception:

the whole wedding day really made me think about how grateful i am for john, and that out of all the people in the world he could have married, he chose me.  and that i am so excited to be with him forever.  isn't it just wonderful?

and i'm even planning on tilling your soil and planting a beautiful garden in it in the next couple of weeks.
