laughing at daddy.

lately this cute little girl has started smiling!  we got a few smiles when she was six weeks old, but boy - since she's been seven weeks the smiles have really picked up quite a bit!  if she is fed and happy, it's almost easy to get her to smile. {especially when she's on her changing table, for some odd reason}.  we love her so.

happy birthday to the handsomest lds missionary you ever did see! love you, sambo.

sleeping baby.

i apologize, but i am obsessed with this sweet little girl.

over the weekend....

daddy {weird that i all the sudden started calling john, daddy - like overnight - and it just rolls off the tongue....} was in austin over the weekend for a friend's wedding.  so hazel and i stayed at grandma's house for the weekend.  we are way less lonely up there when john is out of town ;)  plus, grandma needs her hazel time before we go to atlanta for eleven weeks!

hazel wore this blue dress for church.  isn't she delicious?!
and she slept through the night for the first time!  yay!

jenna and i went to the mall in search of a blessing dress for hazel.  we came home with two skirts for me and no blessing dress for hazel.  oh well.

and i had the privilege of watching one of my best friends play an amazing senior recital!  congrats laur, on graduating!  you are incredible!

lately, my heart has been so full of joy that i think it might explode.
i am so grateful to be a mother.  i am so grateful that Heavenly Father trusted us to take care of one of His precious children, and i am so grateful that our family will be together forever.
having hazel come into our lives has increased my capacity to love more than i can describe.  and, seeing that devilishly handsome man of mine rise to the occasion of fatherhood has made me fall head-over-heels for him all over again.  he is such a great dad, and i'm so proud of him.  he just landed a wonderful internship with at&t in atlanta for the summer, and we are so excited!
