the zoo!

we have been desperate to get outside lately.  even on those freezing cold days last week, if i brought cora outside for even just a second, she would throw a HUGE fit when i brought her back in.  frankly, no matter how long we spend outside playing, getting dirty, and scraping our knees, it never seems to be quite enough for these two!  well, finally the weather is in that sweet-spot of 50-70 degrees and we are doing our best to take full advantage!

on friday, we went to the zoo, and it was PACKED.
these cute girls photobombed our train picture...

hazel usually requests that we go see the fishies first thing.

we sang the byu fight song with the cougars and cora tried (unsuccessfully thanks to my efforts) to feed her fingers to an angry rooster.

"mom, take picture climb elephant!"

easter pics of my girls

while we were in pennsylvania, a cute friend of a friend did a photo mini session of my girls for me.  it was so much fun!  i'm so happy with how they turned out.  here are some highlights:

bbq bust

date night this weekend consisted of mediocre "southern bbq" {we are bbq snobs though of course...} and a looong wait.  i found a good way of entertaining the toddler, and getting that picture of john and cora in front of that cool window made it worth it ;)

a few snapshots of life lately.

hazel requested "more big squeeze" which apparently means this

1.  why is my child so much better at painting than me?
2.  heffalump SNUGGLING HER BUNNY and i might cry from cuteness
3.  these girls have been "rawr"-ing at each-other all week
4.  we built a pirate ship {complete with an actual spinning steering wheel}
5.  admiring herself
6.  bulbbles + chalk!

babies make this man look GOOOOOD

the zoo!

we went to the zoo, and i'm obsessed.

happy easter, loves!

holidays are finally becoming really fun with hazel.  she finally gets what it happening, and that makes hiding easter eggs like the easter bunny that much more fun!  easter this year was extra special too, because cousin claire has been here hanging out with us! {and her mom and dad of course}.

we decorated eggs together, and hazel has since asked to do it again about 20 times.  {she has this egg obsession, and i don't really know where it came from}

what did we do with all these hard-boiled eggs, you ask?  GOLDENROD of course.

and then we did an easter egg hunt, and even cora got in on the action.

but the true meaning of easter was on my mind the next day {easter sunday}, as i contemplated how grateful i am that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and because of His sacrifice, we can be forgiven, work towards becoming like Him, and that we can live with our families forever.  Happy Easter, friends!
